Australian expedition cruise line Coral Expeditions has launched a new series of four- and six-night small ship sailings to attract a “new generation” of cruise travellers
The series, called Coastal Adventures, will come online in January 2026 and offer itineraries designed to appeal to active guests seeking access to remote locations.
Destinations include Tasmania, four-night Great Barrier Reef sailings and six-night cruises in the Margaret River and southwestern Australia from October 2026.
Expedition guides will be on hand to lead nature walks and aquatic activities, with visits to Adventure Bay and Bruny Island, Maria Island and Wineglass Bay in Tasmania on offer.
In Queensland, guests will venture into Sudbury Cay, Hinchinbrook Island, Yamacutta Reef, and Dunk Island National Park. On the West Australian coast, guests will explore Busselton, Margaret River, Cape Naturaliste and Augusta.
The expedition line’s CEO Mark Fifield said the Coastal Adventures series offers a new, more modern style of product for the line, while retaining the “core values of the company’s roots”.
“It opens up a wonderful opportunity for busy working professionals, couples, solo travellers and even families to play, escape, unwind and enrich in some of our favourite places, with shorter adventures that appeal to both new explorers as well as our seasoned young at heart guests,” Fifield added.
“Exploring coastlines by small ship is an unrivalled experience – much like staying at the very best wilderness lodge but with the bonus of waking each day at a different destination.”
