Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth will undergo a “significant” refit next year ahead of its inaugural Caribbean programme and debut Alaska season
The 2,000 guest ship will enter dry dock from 25 February to 13 March 2025, in Seatrium’s Admiralty Yard in Singapore, in preparation for its Alaska season from Seattle in June and a debut voyage from Miami to the Caribbean on 16 October.
The Caribbean season will begin with a 12-night roundtrip sailing from Miami. The vessel will then offer a dedicated programme of roundtrip voyages with itineraries ranging from nine- to 28-nights.
Upgrades will be made to The Queens Room, which will benefit from a refreshed design with a new dance floor, soft furnishings and furniture, ready to host Cunard’s Afternoon Tea, live music, and ballroom dancing.
The Commodore Club, meanwhile, will also receive new furniture, fixtures and fittings, while a new Wellness Café with expanded food and beverage offerings will be installed in the Pavilion Pool.
The Grills Lounge, Terrace, and Restaurant will be refreshed and each room will feature enhanced entertainment as well as new USB ports, balcony furniture, mattresses, and soft furnishings.
The Grills dining experience will be enhanced by a special menu crafted exclusively for Grills guests by Michelin-starred chef Michel Roux.
Roux said: “Crafting exclusive new menus for Cunard’s Grills guests is an extraordinary privilege. This project allows me to blend my passion for fine dining with the timeless elegance and sophistication that define the Cunard Grills experience.”
Guests can also enjoy the Harper’s Bazaar Wellness at Sea programme, first seen on Queen Anne. This programme offers three-day packages tailored to relaxation, energy restoration or recovery.
Queen Elizabeth refresh marks ‘exciting new chapter’ for Cunard
Katie McAlister, president of Cunard, said: “As Queen Elizabeth prepares for her highly anticipated debut seasons in the Caribbean from Miami and Alaska from Seattle, this transformation marks an exciting new chapter for Cunard.
“Inspired by the beauty of these extraordinary destinations, the ship’s revitalisation will seamlessly blend timeless elegance with modern comforts, creating an unparalleled guest experience.”
It comes after the line reported record-breaking bookings in 2024, following the launch of Queen Anne earlier this summer and the early release of three new cruise programmes.
